Swimwear Trends - Hand Dyed 2021/22

Swimwear prints tend to reflect the same trends that appear in mainstream collections, as we see here. Hand dyed looks are coming in across many of the designer collections and it is well reflected in swimwear. Natural earthy colours as well as brighter, acidic colours are present in many new collections. The now familiar Japanese Shibori dyed effects are being used but also a movement towards mark making by hand, as seen in the Dries Van Noten Spring Summer 2021 collection. Hand painted lines in blurred and bold colours create a natural, organic feel with a dynamic edge through colouring.
