Emilio Pucci opened his first clothes shop in Capri (Italy), in the early 50's. He soon established a reputation for his unique take on colourful and bold resort wear.
With the dawn of the sexual revolution in the 60's, Pucci liberated women from the restrictive clothing of previous decades through his use of a new type of stretchy fabric, incorporating this into new simple silhouettes.
Due to the individual nature of his prints he became an instantly recognisable brand and built up a strong following from the rich and famous of the day, including Marilyn Monroe and Jane Fonda.

Pucci's designs were a real symbol of modernism, featuring an exotic and exciting range of colours. He designed his own prints which included swirls, geometrics and kaleidoscopic patterns.
The Pucci fashion label has had various big name designers in the helm over more recent years, including Christian Lacroix and Matthew Williamson. Pucci's unique patterns still remain popular due to their fresh interpretation and reinvention every season.
